1. FAQ - General

Where can I find the API documentation?

Start with the Workflow and Examples using cURL. The complete reference of every endpoint and field is the OpenAPI (Swagger) Documentation, and the Postman Collection lets you try every request.

My API key doesn't work. I get "401 Unauthorized"

Check the Authorization header against Environments & Authorization#Authorization:

  • It starts with ApiKey (exactly this spelling), followed by one space and the complete key.
  • The key belongs to the environment you are calling.

The detail field of the 401 response says what is wrong, for example Invalid API Key or Not authenticated: Missing or unrecognized authentication credentials.

How do you handle updates and backward compatibility?

  • We keep the API backward compatible within a URL version (/api/v2). We add fields and endpoints, so your integration should ignore response fields it doesn't recognise.
  • If a breaking change is unavoidable, we announce it clearly and as early as possible.
  • A new URL version (/api/v3) is announced well in advance, with enough time to migrate before the previous version is retired.
  • We announce changes, fixes and maintenance on our mailing list. See also Versioning and the Release Notes.

How do I contact support?

Email support@apixv.com. For a question about a specific request, include the endpoint, the time of the request, and the X-Search-ID response header of availability searches or the booking_uid of a booking.
